The East Neuk of Fife, close to St Andrews, has a string of picturesque fishing villages stretching out along the coast. Some of the harbours are still working harbours and if the boats have been out you can often select and buy freshly caught lobster and crab. In Crail you can buy your lobster or crab, cooked to order, from the wooden shack which sits on the edge of the harbour. "Fish Sheds" in the villages offer a wide variety of delicious freshly caught fish and seafood. The Fife Coastal Path which stretches for 150km from North Queensferry in the south to the Tay Bridge in the north offers spectacular sea views, craggy cliff tops, expansive sandy beaches, quaint fishing villages, abundant wildlife and historic sites along the way.
