Visiting the picturesque small town of Culross on the Firth of Forth in Fife, with its collection of wonderfully preserved 17th Century buildings, cobbled streets and narrow wynds, gives the impression that you have stepped back in time. It is a fascinating place to visit with lots of interesting sites to marvel at and enjoy. The remains of Culross Abbey are certainly worth exploring and have a wealth of history attached to them. The Abbey was founded in 1217 by Malcolm, 3rd Earl of Fife, and was originally a Cistercian monastery. We took some time to explore the interior of the Abbey Church and loved the way the rays of sunshine reflected through the windows creating a warm and tranquil space.
