Argyll and Bute is a remote but spectacularly beautiful area in the west of Scotland. Characterised by lochs, mountains and sea the region is also home to a number of off shore islands forming part of the Inner Hebrides. We came across a number of standing stones and stone circles whilst touring, most of which we believe would have been the focus of burials for centuries. Ardcastle Wood on the shores of Loch Fyne offers walks to suit all and there are a number of sites in the wood of archaeological and wildlife interest. The Falls of Avich form part of the River Avich which flows for just one mile and links Loch Avich with Loch Awe.
